70 in Seventy Days

Seventy years old. When did that happen? I was just turning 60 the other day, wasn't I?
It seems that time is fleeting, and here I am on the cusp of moving into another decade closer to heaven. God has been very good to me, and I thank him profusely for all the blessings he has poured over me in the past ten years, let alone my whole life.
When the thought of turning seventy began to hang heavy over my mind and heart, I decided that I wouldn't allow any openings for the devil to slither in and steal what God had already stored up or was preparing for me.
This summer, memories from the past flooded through my mind, especially when we tuned into Yacht Rock Radio on our drives. I began to sense that God was telling me I needed to write or share the things I love and cherish, if not for my family for those friends who never knew.
That is how 70 in Seventy Days came to be. It is my attempt to tell my story, share my favorite things, and journey down memory lane with those I love and care for.
Each day, or at least most days (I am trying to finish writing my novel), for 70 days, I will be sharing my favorite music ( I was a radio and club DJ, you know), favorite films and television (Navy broadcast journalist here), favorites in nature, favorite books/authors( Novel in progress), and favorite places. Most importantly, I'll share stories and memories that I hope are interesting and inspiring. You may be surprised by some of the things I have done, where I have lived, and who I have met.
I hope you will stick around and meander down memory lane with me. I think it's going to be fun.
Day 1 coming soon. Numbers 6: 24-26 ( This scripture has a story unto itself) 70 in Seventy Days is dedicated to my parents, Carol Harden(my mother-in-law), Jon Yim (Music expert), Carrie Stringer(Best supporter and close friend of Jesus), and Greg Snaza (Master Chief extraordinaire, inspiration to sailors) - all of whom I think of daily, and wish were still here on the earthly plain, but are resting well.
